Frequently Asked Questions

Everything people ask before booking a home-visit therapeutic massage, gathered in one place: how it works, safety and screening, the conditions we support, and honest guidance on when massage is not the right step.

About our service

Do you have a clinic I can visit?

No. We are a home-visit-only service across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. We come to your home, hotel or private residence with a portable treatment bed and everything needed.

How do I book?

Chat with us on WhatsApp first. We ask about your symptoms, area and history, confirm a home visit is suitable, and give a clear quote before anything is booked.

Which areas do you cover?

Over 60 areas across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, from KLCC, Bangsar and Mont Kiara to Subang Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam and beyond.

Is massage safe for my condition?

We screen every client for safety before booking and tell you honestly when massage is not the right step, referring you to a doctor or physiotherapist where needed.

Therapeutic Massage

How is this different from a spa massage?

A spa massage follows a fixed relaxation routine. A therapeutic session is structured around your specific symptoms, with pressure and techniques chosen for the muscles involved, and a safety screen before we begin.

Is therapeutic massage painful?

It should not feel unbearable. Some focused work can feel firm, but pressure is always adjusted to your comfort level and you can ask us to ease off at any point.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on whether the issue is recent, recurring or linked to a broader condition. Many people start with a single session and decide on a plan afterwards based on how they respond.

Do you bring your own equipment?

Yes. We bring a portable treatment bed, towels and everything needed. You only need a small clear space, roughly two metres by one metre, and somewhere to wash hands.

Pain Relief Massage

Will one session get rid of my pain?

Massage is not a cure and we never promise that. Many people feel looser and more comfortable after one session, but lasting change usually needs a few sessions plus attention to the cause, such as posture or load.

Can massage help my headaches?

Tension-type headaches linked to tight neck and shoulder muscles may ease with massage. Headaches with other features, such as visual changes or sudden severe pain, need medical review first.

Is it safe if I am already on pain medication?

Usually yes, but tell us what you take. Strong pain relief can mask discomfort, so we work more conservatively and ask for feedback often.

What if the pain is from a nerve?

If you have numbness, shooting pain, weakness or pins and needles, that may be nerve-related and we will recommend a physiotherapy or medical assessment before any massage.

Clinical Massage Therapy

Is clinical massage the same as physiotherapy?

No. Physiotherapy assesses and treats a wider range of problems including nerve and joint conditions, and prescribes exercise rehab. Clinical massage focuses on soft tissue and is best as a complement, not a replacement.

Do you keep notes between sessions?

Yes. We note what we worked on and how you responded so each visit builds on the last rather than starting over.

Can you coordinate with my physiotherapist?

We are happy to work around the advice your physiotherapist has given and keep soft tissue work consistent with your rehab plan.

What if you find something outside your scope?

We tell you plainly and recommend the right next step, whether that is a physiotherapy assessment or a medical review.

Physiotherapy Massage

Can massage replace my physiotherapy?

No. Physiotherapy assessment and exercise prescription do things massage cannot. This service supports your physiotherapy, it does not replace it.

Should I check with my physiotherapist first?

If you are recovering from surgery or a significant injury, yes. For everyday tightness alongside general rehab, it is usually fine, and we screen for anything that needs clearance.

Is this the same as deep tissue massage?

Not necessarily. Pressure is chosen to suit your rehab stage, which is often lighter than a deep tissue session, especially early in recovery.

Do you treat post-surgery clients?

Only with medical clearance and well clear of the surgical site early on. We ask about your operation and surgeon advice before booking.

Rehabilitation Massage

When can I start rehabilitation massage after injury?

Only once your doctor or physiotherapist has cleared soft tissue work. Timing depends on the injury, so we ask about it before booking and keep early sessions gentle.

Will it speed up my recovery?

We avoid that claim. Massage may make recovery more comfortable and help you stay consistent with exercises, but healing follows its own timeline guided by your medical team.

Is it safe over a healing area?

We keep clear of healing surgical sites and recent injuries early on, working on surrounding muscles instead, and only progress with clearance.

Do you work with my care team?

Yes, we follow the advice your doctor or physiotherapist has given and keep our work within those limits.

Deep Tissue Massage

Does deep tissue massage have to hurt to work?

No. The idea that more pain means more benefit is a myth. We use enough pressure to reach the tissue while staying within a level you can breathe through.

Will I be sore afterwards?

Some people feel mild tenderness for a day, similar to after exercise. Drinking water and gentle movement usually helps. Sharp or lasting pain is not expected, so tell us if it happens.

Is deep tissue safe for everyone?

No. It is not suitable during acute injury, with fragile or thin skin, blood-thinning medication, clotting risk or certain conditions. We screen first and switch to gentler work when needed.

How is this different from therapeutic massage?

Deep tissue is one set of techniques within therapeutic massage, used when deeper, firmer work is appropriate. A therapeutic session may use light or deep work depending on your needs.

Sports Massage

Should I get a sports massage before or after an event?

Both have a place. Before an event we keep it lighter and stimulating; after an event or hard block we work more on recovery. We adjust based on your timing.

Can sports massage treat my injury?

A suspected strain, tear or joint injury needs proper assessment first. Sports massage is for recovery and maintenance, not for diagnosing or treating injuries.

How often should active people get one?

It depends on training volume. Some book around heavy training blocks or events, others keep a regular maintenance slot. We help you decide based on your load.

Do you come to me after a game?

Yes. A home visit after training or a match means you recover without driving anywhere, which many of our active clients prefer.

Home Therapeutic Massage

How much space do you need?

A clear floor area roughly two metres by one metre for the portable bed, plus a little room to move around it. A living room or bedroom usually works well.

Is a home visit hygienic?

Yes. We bring fresh linen for every client, clean equipment between visits and follow standard hygiene practices in your home.

Can you visit a hotel or serviced apartment?

Yes, as long as we can get registered access at reception or the guardhouse. Many of our visiting clients book at their hotel.

Is a home visit more expensive than a clinic?

A home visit reflects the travel and setup involved. Many clients find the time saved and the comfort of staying home is well worth it. We confirm pricing before you book.

Luxury Therapeutic Massage

What makes this luxury rather than standard?

The therapeutic care is the same. Luxury refers to the concierge-style scheduling, the calm private setting and the premium presentation, not stronger or different treatment claims.

Can you come to my hotel?

Yes. Hotel-room visits are a core part of this service. We only need to be able to register at reception for access.

Do you offer the same therapist each time?

Where possible, yes. Many executive clients prefer continuity, and we try to keep a consistent therapist for your sessions.

Is this a sensual or spa service?

No. This is a professional therapeutic service for pain, tension and recovery. It is not a spa or sensual service of any kind.

Back Pain

Is massage good for lower back pain?

For lower back pain that is mainly muscular, massage may ease tightness and improve comfort. It is not a treatment for slipped discs, fractures or nerve compression, which need medical assessment.

Can I have a massage if I have a slipped disc?

Only after medical assessment and with clearance. We do not claim to treat slipped discs, but gentle work on surrounding muscles may be appropriate for some people once a doctor has reviewed them.

How should I prepare for a home session for back pain?

Wear comfortable clothing, clear a small floor space, and have a recent summary of any scans or doctor advice ready to share. We will guide you through the rest.

Neck Pain

Can massage help tension headaches?

Tension headaches linked to tight neck and shoulder muscles may ease with massage. Headaches with other features need medical review, and we will tell you if that applies.

I sit at a laptop all day. Will one session fix it?

A session may give real relief, but if the cause is your daily setup, the tension returns without changes to posture, breaks and your workstation. We give simple advice alongside the hands-on work.

Is neck massage safe?

Gentle, controlled work on the neck muscles is safe for most people. We avoid forceful techniques and screen for any signs that need a doctor first.

Shoulder Pain

Is my shoulder pain frozen shoulder?

Frozen shoulder usually means a marked loss of movement in all directions over weeks. If that sounds like you, an assessment matters, and we can point you to our frozen shoulder information.

Can massage help a rotator cuff problem?

Massage may ease the surrounding muscle tension, but a suspected rotator cuff tear needs assessment and usually physiotherapy. We work alongside that, not instead of it.

Which position will I be in for the session?

We work around your comfort. If lying on the painful side hurts, we adjust with supported positions, which is easy to arrange during a home visit.

Sciatica

Can massage cure sciatica?

No. Massage does not cure sciatica or treat a compressed nerve. Where tight muscles add to the discomfort, careful work may improve comfort, but the nerve issue itself needs proper assessment.

Is it safe to massage during a sciatica flare?

During an acute, severe flare, we usually advise assessment first and keep any work very gentle and away from aggravating positions. We never push through sharp nerve pain.

Should I see a physiotherapist for sciatica?

Often yes. Physiotherapy can assess the nerve, guide specific exercises and track progress. Massage can sit alongside that as comfort support once you have been assessed.

Frozen Shoulder

Will massage speed up frozen shoulder recovery?

We do not claim that. Frozen shoulder recovers on its own timeline. Massage may make the journey more comfortable by easing the surrounding muscle tension, alongside your physiotherapy.

Is it painful to have the shoulder massaged?

We keep the work gentle and away from forcing the stiff joint. We focus on muscles that are tense and tender, always within your comfort.

Should I keep doing my physiotherapy exercises?

Yes. The movement work from your physiotherapist is the core of recovery. Massage supports it by easing tension so the exercises feel more manageable.

Knee Pain

Can massage help knee arthritis?

Massage does not treat arthritis, but easing the tight muscles around the joint may improve comfort for some people. Significant swelling or a hot joint should be reviewed by a doctor first.

My knee hurts after running. Can you help?

If the pain is muscular and the knee is stable, working on tight quads, hamstrings and calves may help. A swollen or unstable knee should be assessed before any massage.

Do you massage directly on the knee?

We mostly work on the muscles around the knee rather than the joint itself, and we keep clear of any swollen, hot or painful area.

Plantar Fasciitis

Why does massage focus on my calf for heel pain?

Tight calf muscles increase the pull on the tissue under your heel. Easing the calf, alongside foot work and stretching, often makes the most difference for plantar fasciitis.

How long does plantar fasciitis take to settle?

It varies and can take months. We avoid promising quick fixes. Massage is one supportive part of a plan that includes stretching, footwear and load management.

Can you treat both feet in one visit?

Yes. If both feet and calves are involved, we work on both during the home visit and give you stretches to continue between sessions.

Post-Surgery Recovery

When can I have a massage after surgery?

Only when your surgeon has specifically cleared soft tissue work. The timing depends on the operation, so we ask about your surgery and clearance before booking anything.

Will you massage my scar or surgical site?

Not early on. We keep well clear of the healing site and work on surrounding muscles. Any scar work is only considered much later and with clearance.

Is a home visit better after surgery?

For many people, yes, because travelling soon after surgery is tiring and uncomfortable. A home visit lets you rest before and after, once you have clearance.

Senior & Elderly Care

Is massage safe for my elderly parent?

For many seniors, gentle massage is safe and comforting. Because older adults often have other conditions, we screen carefully and may ask for a doctor's guidance before the first session.

Can I be present during my parent's session?

Yes, and we encourage it. Many families prefer to be in the room, especially for a first session, and it helps the senior feel at ease.

My parent uses a wheelchair. Can you still help?

Often yes. We adapt the session to what is comfortable and safe, working in supported seated or lying positions as needed during the home visit.

Hip Pain

Could my hip pain actually be coming from my back?

Yes, that is common. Lower back and hip problems can refer pain to each other. We assess the pattern and, if it points to the spine or nerve, we suggest the right next step.

I sit all day. Is that why my hips are tight?

Long sitting shortens and tightens the hip flexors and can leave the glutes feeling tense. Massage may help, alongside regular movement breaks and the stretches we suggest.

Can massage help hip arthritis?

Massage does not treat arthritis, but easing the surrounding muscle tension may improve comfort for some. A very painful or stiff hip joint should be reviewed by a doctor.

Tennis Elbow

Will massage alone fix tennis elbow?

On its own, usually not. Recovery from tennis elbow relies mostly on load management and specific strengthening exercises. Massage may ease the tight forearm muscles as a supportive part of that.

How did I get tennis elbow without playing tennis?

Most cases come from everyday repetitive gripping, typing or manual work, not tennis. The name is just where it was first described.

Should I rest the arm completely?

Complete rest is rarely the answer. Most people do better managing the aggravating load while building strength gradually, which a physiotherapist can guide.

Tension Headaches

How can a neck massage help my headache?

Tension headaches often come from tight muscles in the neck and base of the skull. Easing that tension may reduce how often and how strongly the headaches come, for this type of headache.

How do I know it is a tension headache and not a migraine?

Migraines often involve throbbing pain, nausea and sensitivity to light. If you are unsure, or your pattern has changed, see a doctor. We do not diagnose headaches; we ease muscular tension once it is safe.

Can a home session help me relax better than a clinic?

Many people find it easier to relax fully at home, with no travel before or after. For tension headaches, that calm setting can be part of the benefit.

Therapeutic Massage vs Physiotherapy: Which Do You Need?

Can massage replace physiotherapy?

No. They do different jobs. Massage can complement physiotherapy by easing muscular tension, but it does not replace assessment and exercise rehabilitation.

Can I do both at the same time?

Often yes. Many people use massage to stay comfortable between physiotherapy sessions. We keep our work within the limits your physiotherapist sets.

Therapeutic Massage vs Deep Tissue Massage

Should I ask for deep tissue if I have a lot of pain?

Not necessarily. A lot of pain can mean the tissue is irritated, where firm pressure makes things worse. We choose pressure based on what your body needs, not a label.

Will deep tissue leave me bruised?

Good deep tissue work should not bruise you. Mild next-day tenderness can happen, but bruising suggests too much pressure, which we avoid.

When Not To Get A Massage

Can I have a massage when I am sick with a fever?

No. With a fever or an active infection, it is better to rest and recover. Massage can wait until you are well.

I have a swollen, painful calf. Is that okay to massage?

No. A hot, red, painful swollen calf could be a blood clot, which is a medical emergency. See a doctor urgently and do not massage it.

Is Massage Safe After Surgery?

How long after surgery before I can have a massage?

There is no single answer; it depends on the operation. Some people are cleared in a few weeks for work away from the site, others much later. Your surgeon decides.

Can massage break down my surgical scar?

We avoid that kind of claim. Any scar work is gentle, only considered well into healing, and only with clearance. We never work aggressively on a scar.

How To Choose A Therapeutic Massage Therapist

Is a home-visit therapist safe to let into my home?

Choose a service that communicates clearly beforehand, confirms the appointment, and is professional throughout. You can also have a family member present, which we always welcome.

What questions should I ask before booking?

Ask whether they screen for safety, how they decide on pressure, what to expect, and what happens if massage is not suitable for your problem. Good answers signal a careful service.

Sports Massage: Before or After Exercise?

Can a massage right before my race help?

A light, stimulating session can help you feel loose, but avoid deep work, which can leave the legs heavy. We keep it gentle close to race day.

How soon after a marathon should I get a massage?

Usually a day or two later, once acute soreness and any swelling settle. Immediately after, very gentle work is safer than deep pressure.

Massage for Desk Workers: Easing Tech Neck and Back Tension

How often should a desk worker get a massage?

It varies with how much tension builds. Some book monthly maintenance, others around busy work periods. We help you find a sensible rhythm rather than pushing frequent sessions.

Can a home visit fit around my work-from-home day?

Yes. Many work-from-home professionals book a session at the end of the day, with no travel before or after, so they can rest straight afterwards.

Massage for Elderly Parents: A Family Guide

Is massage safe for someone in their 80s?

Age alone is not a barrier. Gentle massage suits many older adults. What matters is screening for their specific conditions and adapting the pressure and positioning, which we always do.

My parent had a stroke. Can you still help?

With medical or physiotherapy clearance, gentle supportive massage may help comfort after a stroke. See our stroke recovery information, and we will screen carefully before booking.

How Much Does a Home Massage Cost in KL?

Why are prices not listed on the website?

Because the right price depends on your session length, location and what you actually need. Rather than post a misleading figure, we give you a clear, all-in quote on WhatsApp before you book.

Do you charge extra for travel?

Any travel is accounted for in the single quote we give you, so there are no separate surprise charges. If your area is far from our usual range, we will tell you honestly before booking.

What to Expect at Your First Home Massage

Do I need to prepare anything?

Very little. Just clear a small space for the bed and have a quiet spot ready. We bring everything else, including linens and towels.

What should I wear?

Wear something loose and comfortable. During the session you stay appropriately covered with towels, and we only expose the area being worked on.

How Often Should You Get a Massage?

Can you get a massage too often?

For most people regular massage is fine, but constant deep work can leave tissues sore and is rarely necessary. If you feel you cannot cope without frequent sessions, it is worth getting the underlying issue assessed.

How many sessions before I notice a difference?

Many people feel some ease after one session, though lasting change usually comes over a few. If there is no difference after a handful of sessions, we will be honest and suggest reassessing.

Home Massage vs Spa Massage: Which Is Right for You?

Is a home massage as hygienic as a spa?

Yes. We bring fresh, clean linens and towels for every visit and clean our equipment between clients, so hygiene is not a reason to prefer one over the other.

Can I get the same quality of work at home?

Yes, often better for therapeutic goals. The same trained hands work on you, with more focus and no venue time pressure, in a setting where you are relaxed.

Massage for Sleep and Stress: What It Can and Cannot Do

Can massage cure my insomnia?

No. Massage may help you relax and wind down, which some people find useful, but ongoing insomnia has many causes and needs proper medical advice.

Is an evening session better for sleep?

Some people prefer an evening session to help them wind down before bed. As a home-visit service we can usually work around the time that suits your routine.
