Why screening matters for leg swelling
Sudden swelling in one leg, a leg that is hot, red or painful, or swelling with breathlessness can signal a blood clot or heart problem and is a medical emergency, not a reason to book massage. We will always ask you to see a doctor first if your swelling fits any of these patterns.
Comfortable home sessions
For suitable, assessed cases, a home visit lets you elevate the legs, rest, and combine MLD with any compression your doctor has prescribed. We keep the technique gentle and work toward the nearest healthy lymph nodes.
Before you book a home visit
A quick WhatsApp chat helps us check that a home visit is safe and suitable. We usually ask:
- 1Which area are you located in (home, hotel or private residence)?
- 2Where is the pain, stiffness or swelling, and how long has it been going on?
- 3Was there an injury, surgery or medical diagnosis?
- 4Any numbness, weakness, swelling, infection or severe pain?
- 5Is there room for a portable treatment bed, and can you lie comfortably?
- 6Have you seen a doctor or physiotherapist for this?
Frequently asked questions
My legs swell by the end of the day. Can MLD help?
Mild end-of-day swelling has many causes. If a doctor has assessed it and it suits lymphatic work, MLD may support comfort. If the swelling is new, one-sided or painful, see a doctor first.
Is leg massage safe if I have varicose veins?
It depends, and it should be checked. MLD is gentle, but some vein and circulation conditions need medical guidance before any leg work, so we screen carefully.
Can you help with swelling from lymphoedema in the legs?
For diagnosed lower-limb lymphoedema, MLD may support swelling management as part of a care plan with compression and skin care, guided by your medical team.
